What a Difference a Goat Can Make!
We aim to empower 100 widowed or abandoned women in 3 Ugandan communities by providing them with a well-bred female goat, along with training from a local vet.
Through an organised mating scheme, each goat can produce numerous well-bred kids. These kids can be sold for a higher price than a local kid making the mother goat a very profitable investment.
Using the ‘Do unto Others’ Principle that Jesus spoke of, we ask that each woman passes just one of her newborn goat kids to a similarly needy neighbour. This allows our local partners, working with our Pioneers worker, the chance to talk about biblical principles and helps offset the ‘aid’ mentality.
